MOTOR EQUIPMENT OPERATOR JOB DESCRIPTION
This role involves operating various types of motorized equipment used in road construction, maintenance, and other public works projects. Responsibilities include performing skilled tasks such as operating trucks, graders, and snow removal equipment, along with conducting minor maintenance like lubrication and fluid level checks.
Work is carried out under general supervision, with room for independent judgment in day-to-day operations. In addition to equipment operation, duties may involve manual tasks such as cleaning culverts, and other road maintenance activities. Minor mechanical repairs may be required.
Key responsibilities of a Motor Equipment Operator in Oneida County include:
Operating various types of motorized equipment:
Includes trucks for hauling materials, snow plows, graders, other construction equipment.
Performing minor mechanical repairs:
Operators may be required to make basic repairs on the equipment they operate.
Maintaining assigned equipment:

Minimum Qualifications for the Light Motor Equipment Operator:
· One (1) year of automotive equipment operation experience.
· Eligibility for a New York State Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
· Possession of a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) at time of appointment.
